How should I send my Demo?
The music you send us should be on CD (Audio or MP3). We can accept other formats but you will be doing yourself a favour sending them in our preferred formats. This can be sent either by post, or send us a link to your site. Please include a brief Biog.

What should be on the Demo?
Make your demo your best one with your strongest tracks. If we like what we hear, we will contact you for more examples. Remember, we are seeking prodigious sounds, prototypal talent, striking originality, un-acquired quality and a great performance, and basically something which makes what you’re doing stand out from what the rest are doing.

Will my demo definitely get heard?
Our A&R team will listen to EVERY demo that hits our post room and because of this; we need time to ensure each CD gets its fair share of A&R ‘ear time’. Please don’t phone us every five minutes and certainly don’t turn up for a hopeful impromptu meeting. If we like your demo you will definitely hear from us.

Will I get my demo back?
Try as we might, we just can’t reply to everyone so if you want your demo returned, please be sure to enclose a Stamp addressed envelope.

Anything else?
Please make sure any CDs you send are clearly marked with all the important info including your Name, Artist Name, contact details including mobile & email. A full track listing should be evident on the CD. Feel free to include other information such as a bio, photo, reviews, etc. None of this is specifically required, but if you have something then you may as well include it.
You will have a better chance of hearing back from us if your sounds are of the Funky/Disco/Sexy/Soulful/Latin House, Urban (well, sub-urban) or Pop variety, but we are not so silly as to ignore GOOD music in other genres.
As The Music Chef is a relatively young label, we don’t have a roster of artiste talent like many of our godfather labels – yet… but this is good, its better this way and it’s where you the artist come in as it allows us to concentrate on our artists with maximal focus. We don’t proclaim to be the biggest or the best, but we do try harder!
Please understand that our reviewing process is based on our own personal preferences, and if you get don’t hear back from us it doesn't necessarily mean that your music is no good; it's more likely because the sounds were not quite right for us as a label.
