DVD Duplication & DVD Replication
DVD Duplication
If you have produced your music video and want to release it on DVD for your EPK or for sale at Gigs, The Music Chef offers short run duplication from 50 to 500 units. Using high quality media, it guarantees superb playability. We can provide an extensive range of packaging from simple plastic sleeves through to fully packaged DVD cases with booklets.
DVD Replication
For volume production over 1,000 units we recommend replicated/pressed DVDs. This offers the optimal playability and quality. We can develop bespoke packaging designs or standard DVD cases.
What is the DVD duplication process? How is it different from DVD replication?
DVD Duplication is the burning of data on to Blank DVDR’s using automated machines. We use a “true copy” system quality control so you are sure of an extremely high quality product and service. The DVD duplication process also uses a different printing process to the replication process. Low run DVDR’s are printed digitally as opposed to Screen or Litho print. We will examine the artwork and advise the best printing process.
The Replication option is more cost effective on runs over 1,000 units but takes longer. A Glass Master is created from your master and through the electro-reforming process, nickel Stampers are grown from the Glass. The Stamper is then loaded onto a replication line and DVD copies are replicated by pressing the stamper into liquid polycarbonate that is injection molded to the shape of the DVD. Once the discs are pressed, metalised, lacquered and bonded, they will await printing onto the surface of the silver discs. We can Litho print or Silk screen print the DVD On-Body Artwork depending on the look of the design. Any printed parts (Booklets & Inlays, Card Wallets, Digi-packs) would be Litho printed as opposed to digitally printed as per the low volume Duplication runs.
